WHO WE ARE

The SAIL Empowerment Foundation was founded by Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru and Mrs Feyisola Abiru with a heartfelt vision: to uplift communities by providing young people with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed. Senator Abiru’s career background and commitment to impactful leadership inspire everything we do. Our mission is to empower at least one youth in every household, starting in Lagos and eventually reaching all corners of Nigeria.

Guided by a passionate Board of Trustees, including Mr. Alao Saheed, Fadekemi Abiru, and Chief Impact Consultant Mr Deji Abisola, we are determined to create real change. Through our innovative programs, we equip individuals with in-demand skills, create job opportunities, support youth through sport development and lay the foundation for long-term economic prosperity.

The SAIL Innovation Lab empowers youth with essential skills for the digital economy through programs that bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. With hands-on training, mentorship, and support, we equip young people to thrive in technology and entrepreneurship.

OUR LEADERSHIP

Our Founders

Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo

Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, is a distinguished Nigerian public servant, accomplished banker , and chartered accountant, currently serving as the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District in the 10th Nigerian National Assembly. He presently chairs the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions. He was the Chairman, Senate Committee on Industries in the 9th National Assembly. He is also the Chairman, Southern Senators’ Forum. His approach to his duties and responsibilities as a Senator is built on three fundamental pillars: Legislative, Empowerment, and Endowment.

Mrs. Feyisola Abiru

A visionary leader in constant pursuit of perfection, Mrs. Abiru is an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Lagos Business School as well as IMD Switzerland. With proven expertise in the industry of space enhancement, she is a published author, with articles published in the national dailies. She has successfully built a sustainable brand that has stood the test of time.
